Inheritance of Pollen Restoration and Transmission of Cytoplasmic Sterility in Popcorn1

Synopsis

Synopsis

Pollen restoration in each of the inbred lines K55 and Tx 127C appears to be conditioned by one gene. The genes in these two lines were found to be allelic. Use of cytoplasmic male sterility as a background to identify plants heterozygous for pollen restoration in a backcrossing program was satisfactory for two generations.
