A Comparison of the Rust Reaction of Wheat Varieties Gabo, Timstein, and Lee1

  1. I. A. Watson and

Synopsis

Synopsis

Gabo, Timstein, and Lee behave alike in their stem and leaf rust reactions in Australia and to selected cultures of stem rust from the United States. Greenhouse and field tests indicate that Lee does not possess either the Hope or T. timopheevi resistance to stem rust or the T. timopheevi resistance to leaf rust. Its seedling resistance to leaf rust apparently was derived from Gaza. It appears that Lee came originally from a cross Hope × (Bobin2 × Gaza).
