The smooth-awn character transferred to Atlas showed no advantage in yield at 11 Western U. S. stations during 1953–55, but expressed a beneficial effect from late autumn sowing in 5 of 12 seasons of cumulative testing. Hooded Atlas had lower yields and kernel weights at Davis but yielded as well as Atlas at high altitudes.Please view the pdf by using the Full Text (PDF) link under 'View' to the left.
