Synopsis

The Honor System, a device for student proctoring of examinations, was tried during the winter, spring, and fall quarters, 1956, in the School of Agriculture, North Dakota Agricultural College. Teaching efficiency under the Honor System appears to have been benefited in time saved by instructor previously spent proctoring, increased clarity of test coverage and statement of test questions, and a less tense environment during examinations. Student-instructor relationship improved and contributed to better communication between pupil and teacher. A large majority of students favored continued use of Honor System.
