A Single Gene-Pair Controlling Segregation for European Corn Borer Resistance1

  1. L. H. Penny and

Synopsis

Synopsis

Ratings of leaf feeding of the European corn borer on plants in F2 and backcross progenies from two susceptible × resistant corn crosses indicated that resistance differences were conditioned by segregation of genes at a single locus. The resistance gene was linked with the gl7 and V17 genes of the resistant parent with cross-over frequencies estimated at from 31% to 37%.
