Moisture Equilibrium Values in Relation to Mold Formation of Seeds of Several Grass and Small-Seeded Legumes1
- S. T. Dexter22
Moisture contents of many small-seeded legumes and grasses at equilibrium with relative humidities from 55 to 85% are given, together with indications of the rate of attaining equilibrium and the rate of molding. Grass seeds reached equilibrium more quickly, molded more quickly, and absorbed a smaller amount of moisture in going from a efficiently dry to dangerously damp condition than did small legume seeds. Rapidity of molding was closely associated with rapidity of attaining equilibrium. Please view the pdf by using the Full Text (PDF) link under 'View' to the left.
