Changes in Composition of the Timothy Plant at the Bloom Stage1

Chemical analysis of plant parts at four growth stages provided evidence of upward translocation of magnesium coincident with accumulation of a phosphorus fraction in the upper part of the timothy plant. Fertilization with nitrogen 41 days prior to the first sampling influenced the carbohydrate content and the uptake and distribution of phosphorus.
