Zinc Levels in Relation to Zinc Content and Growth of Corn1

The zinc concentration in corn was related to its available supply. Plants showing severe deficiency symptoms were stunted and had a relatively high zinc concentration; lowest zinc concentration occurred when deficiency symptoms were mild and growth better. Two possible explanation for these anomalous results are discussed.
