Synopsis

Synopsis

Increasing the day length accelerated development, primarily during the pre-initiation phase of growth. Dividing the normal 24-hour day into several cycles in which the same light-to-darkness ratio was maintained also accelerated development. This promotion in development was due to the interruption of the dark rather than the light period.
