Synopsis

Synopsis

No differences in total yields for 4 years were obtained when equal amounts of potassium were applied to a grass-legume pasture as either 1 initial or 4 annual applications, although yields the fourth year were lower when 400 pounds of K2O per acre were applied initially than when the same total amount was applied in 4 annual applications. The effectiveness of the initial applications is thought to be associated with release of initially fixed potassium.
