The Response of Alfalfa Varieties to Photoperiod, Color of Light and Temperature1

Seedlings of southern and northern types of alfalfa varied in their response to photoperiod, color of light, and temperature. The greatest difference in growth between these types occurred with short photoperiods, a combination of red and green light, and low temperatures.
