Synopsis

Several trends were revealed, possibly related to resistance. Large differences between the contents of β-alanine and ethanolamine were found in aphids on resistant and susceptible alfalfa. Ethanolamine and pipecolic acid were identified as new constituents of alfalfa aphid honeydew. Environmental effects were significant.
