Changes in botanical composition on the annual range type of California indicated significant fertilizer-grazing, fertilizer-year, and grazing-year interactions. Direct projection of botanical composition data from ungrazed fertilizer plots would not accurately predict changes resulting from the same fertilizer on grazed areas.
