Respiration of Forage Seed in Hermetically Sealed Cans1

  1. T. M. Ching2

Synopsis

Synopsis

Crimson clover seed respired less than perennial ryegrass seed stored under similar moisture and temperature conditions. Seed respiration was affected more by moisture content than by temperature. Carbon dioxide fixation was indicated in viable seed stored in hermetically sealed cans. Seed respiration decreased with increasing length of storage period.
