Synopsis

Synopsis

Maximum gain per steer was higher on Gulf ryegrass than on tall fescue. As the stocking rate was increased gain per steer decreased at a faster rate on the ryegrass. With a stocking rate producing maximum gain per acre, gain per steer and per acre was higher on the ryegrass; however, the carrying capacity was greater on tall fescue.
