Synopsis

Synopsis

Highest grain yields were obtained with a 2.5-inch seed spacing. Where surface moisture availability was low, a small lister opener gave best stand establishment. Under favorable conditions, a tool-bar, unit type planter was best. In 1961 and 1962, press wheels increased stands by 14%, and yield by 8%.
