SYNOPSIS. The nature and scope of the program for high school science teachers and students varies considerably from one institution to another. The response from teachers and students suggests they are being stimulated and motivated by their varied experiences in soil and crop science programs. While such programs have influenced several high school science students to programs have subsequently enroll in agronomy or soils departments, the programs probably have important effects on the image of agriculture and agronomy for many who do not choose these areas for their life's work.
