Responses of Ladino Clover to Phosphorus Withdrawal from the Nutrient Solution1

Synopsis

Synopsis

Ladino clover seedlings previously grown in solution culture with adequate P can accumulate sufficient P to maintain rapid growth for several weeks after P is withdrawn. As this accumulated P within the plant is depleted, top growth is the first to suffer. Good root growth continues for some time even with poor top growth.
