Kinkaoil ironweed (Vemonia anthelmintica (L.) Willd.) seed yield and components of yield were determined for successive 5-day intervals throughout the fruiting season. The average yield per plant was 19.45 g, or 5,021 seeds, which ripened over a 40-day period. Seed weight decreased from the beginning to the end of the season. There was an average of 151 heads per plant, each containing 29 to 40 seeds. The peak yield occurred 21 to 30 days after the first head matured.
