Abstract

Abstract

The precision of estimates of A and K in the exponential regression model, Y = NAKN + error, relating corn (Zea mays) yield to plant density, and the precision of estimates of optimum density and maximum yield are influenced by the particular set of densities employed in an experiment. A procedure for determining the number of replications necessary to provide reasonable confidence of obtaining precise estimates is outlined, and two illustrative examples are given.
