Abstract

Abstract

November and December plantings of ‘Harlan’ and ‘Arivat’ spring barley Itordeum vulgar L. emend Lain., generally gave maximum yields of quality grain in Arizona. In November plantings, seeding rates from 11 to 45 kg/ha produced as much or more grain than rates up to 123 kg/ha. Grain volume weights of Harlan were similar for all dates and rates of planting. Volume weights of Arivat decreased in late plantings.
