A Computerized Personal Bibliographic Reference System1

  1. R. H. Strand and

A computer program for the creation and maintenance of an indexed personal bibliographic reference file is described. It is capable of providing an alphanumeric listing of all entries in a reference file, an alphabetic listing of all sources referenced, an alphabetic listing of all authors present, and an alphabetic index of all meaningful words (key words). In addition to the printed index for key word search, the system, which does not require sophisticated computer expertise, provides simple means for organizing, adding, or retrieving references. After the initial computer file creation, minimal computer access is required for updating the file.
