An Electric Scythe for Small Plot Harvest of Safflower1

The blade of a scythe was replaced with an electric hedge trimmer to cut small plots of safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.). Compared to the other methods, cutting time was decreased 25 to 75% and work was done with less discomfort.
