Abstract

Abstract

A mechanical turfgrass wear simulator was constructed for small plot investigations. It was developed for use on experimental units as small as 1m2. The wear simulator is operated by an electric motor and is constructed to rotate around a pivotal point with an adjustable diameter ranging from 1.0 to 2.7m. The machine is built of light weight materials in a size and weight so that it can be easily moved by an individual. The wear unit simulates both foot and tire wear on turf.
