Abstract

Increased interest in high-quality sports turf in Denmark has resulted in attempts to improve soil conditions on new sports fields. Physical soil characteristics have been evaluated and recommendations for construction of these grounds based on soil properties have been made. Improved textural and structural characteristics have resulted in less soil compaction under intensively used turf.
