Book: Challenges and Strategies of Dryland Agriculture, CSSA Special Publication 32, 2004

With more than two-thirds of potentially productive drylands threatened by various forms of degradation, it is essential that appropriate production technology be developed to protect these fragile systems as they become more important in sustaining a growing world population. The principles, philosophies, and technologies presented in this publication have the potential to contribute to improve food security and livelihoods for the people in dryland regions of the world.
