Meiotic irregularities increased in each of five advanced generation hexaploid triticale (Triticale hexaploide Lart. (5)) with delayed planting. In addition, tillering capacity was reduced. Significant differences existed between genotypes, and a marked interaction occurred between genotype and planting date. Notwithstanding meiotic irregularities, production of normal pollen was reasonably good (70-75%), and spikelet fertility was equivalent to that hexaploid wheat. Please view the pdf by using the Full Text (PDF) link under 'View' to the left.
