Abstract

Abstract

Meiotic irregularities increased in each of five advanced generation hexaploid triticale (Triticale hexaploide Lart. (5)) with delayed planting. In addition, tillering capacity was reduced. Significant differences existed between genotypes, and a marked interaction occurred between genotype and planting date. Notwithstanding meiotic irregularities, production of normal pollen was reasonably good (70-75%), and spikelet fertility was equivalent to that hexaploid wheat.
