Infertility of Cotton Flowers at Both High and Low Relative Humidities1
- G. J. Hoffman and
- S. L. Rawlins2
At either constantly low (25%) or high (90%) atmospheric relative humidity, cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) set very few bolls because the anthers failed to dehisce. Seed cotton yields were almost zero at both 25 and 90% relative humidity, whereas yields at 40 and 65% were 48 and 164 g/plant, respectively. Please view the pdf by using the Full Text (PDF) link under 'View' to the left.
