Four lines were established in the sorghum variety ‘Wheatland,’ each homozygous for a separate mutation from dw2 to Dw3. A replicated planting of these mutants and three normal Wheatland plants was made to study the effect of the Bw3 allele on the length of the various internodes among otherwise isogenic lines.

Internodes one and five were most effected and internode three least effected by the Dw3 allele.
