Chromosomal Location of Rf2, a Restorer Gene for Cytoplasmic Pollen Sterile Maize1
- R. J. Snyder and
- D. N. Duvick2
Rf2, one of two major dominant genes needed to restore pollen fertility to the T-type of cytoplasmic pollen sterile maize (Zea mays L.), has been shown to be located on chromosome 9, approximately 5 crossover units from waxy endosperm (wx) and adjacent to the centromere. Results from tests involving chromosomal translocations and tests involving marker genes were in complete agreement. Please view the pdf by using the Full Text (PDF) link under 'View' to the left.
