Effect of Planting Rate and Genotypic Frequency on Yield and Seed Size in Mixtures of Two Wheat Varieties1
- S. R. Chapman,
- R. W. Allard and
- Julian Adams2
Yield of mixtures of the wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) varieties Baart 46’ and Ramona’ grown in row plantings varied with the frequency of the two varieties and showed significant positive deviations from predictions based on the weighted mean performance of components. This frequency dependent effect was itself dependent on density. The seed size of mixtures showed no such frequency dependent effects although seed size increased significantly at lower population densitiesPlease view the pdf by using the Full Text (PDF) link under 'View' to the left.
