Evaluation of Urea-Hydrocarbon Complexes as “Slow Release” Nitrogen Carriers1

Several urea-aliphatic complexes were made. The most stable of these, urea-stearic acid complex, was found to hydrolyze slower than urea in Drummer silty clay loam, although not enough to make it useful as a “slow release” nitrogen carrier.
