Abstract

Abstract

Inhibition of nitrification of fall-applied ammonium sulfate with “N-Serve”3 prevented movement of applied nitrogen below the 30.5-cm depth. Yield of wheat (Triticum aestivum L., Cultivar Gaines) fertilized with ammonium sulfate and N-Serve was increased 37 to 42% compared to no increase in yield with the nitrate form.

3 “N-Serve” is a trade mark of the Dow Chemical Company.
