Abstract

Abstract

A procedure for drying solutions for B determinations by the curcumin procedure is described. Using polypropylene centrifuge tubes in place of quartz or porcelain containers simplifies both the drying of solutions for formation of the colored complex, rosocyanine, and redissolution of the complex. Drying samples for 15 to 19 hours in a water bath at 55 ± 3C gives consistently good results.
