Solid State Circuitry to Activate Event Recorders Used with Drop-Counters1

A drop-counting apparatus is used to determine soil moisture flow rates. A drop of water (soil solution) extracted from soil falls between two electrodes of the drop counter and initiates a series of events in the circuitry that activates the relay coil of the event recorder. The chart is marked at the time the drop passes between the electrodes.
