Abstract

Changes in extractable P resulting from additions of Ca(OH)2 to samples of 13 acid Connecticut soils varied with soil type and soil extractant. The average pH increase from 5.3 to 7.7 resulted in the following average changes in extractable P: modified Morgan, +123%; North Carolina, +27%; Bray no. 1, −23%. Changes in Bray no. 1 extractable P were affected less by soil differences than changes in P extracted by the other two methods.
