Electron Scanning Studies of the Fabric of Fracture Surfaces1

  1. H. Eswaran2

Abstract

Abstract

Fracture surfaces of soil peds were studied with the scanning electron microscope (SEM). An attempt was made to correlate such studies with the classical petrographical study of the soil. Cambic, spodic, argillic and oxic horizons were examined and some of the more significant properties were evaluated. A brief discussion has been included regarding the problems involved in using SEM technique in soil micromorphology.
