Two-Dimensional Solutes Transfer during Nonsteady Infiltration: Laboratory Test of Mathematical Model1

The theory of two-dimensional transport of solutes during nonsteady infiltration from trickle sources, as developed previously, was compared with experimental results. A laboratory experiment was conducted under conditions similar to those assumed in the two-dimensional plane flow model. The agreement between theory and experiment as expressed by salt concentration distribution and location of wetting fronts, is generally good.
